My son Manuel had a congestion because he went swimming right after having eaten, and he fainted and went drowning in the sea. But thanks to the Virgin of the Rosary who sent a dog to save him from dying at the depth, the dog took him out right before he drown. Now my son is alright, and the dog has become his friend. He named her Chavita because she was his savior. We give thanks for such a miracle.

Notes:
Chavo is the nickname for those whose name is Salvador which means “savior”. Chavita is a diminutive of the feminine form of that nickname.

Because of a very powerful hurricane that hit our town, the river bursted its banks and I was trapped in my truck with my little dog. I give infinite thanks to Saint Rita with this retablo because the rescue team came in time and saved me and my little dog Canela.

My daughter Luisa was playing in laundry at the river bank. She slipped on a smooth stone and fell into water. Thanks to Our Lady of the Rosary our dog which is very smart and swims very well was able to save the girl before she drowned. I give thanks to the Holy Virgin.

Don Roque’s dog was a wild beast. One day my girl got in his yard, and the animal jumped on her. But after snugging her the dog didn’t do anything. I know it was a miracle by Saint Quiteria’s protection.

Vicente Ortega was bitten by a dog when he was coming out from his house. The bites were very bad, and they said he could lose his arm because it wouldn’t heal with the treatment they gave him. He implored the Holy Virgin of Los Remedios, and she granted him with healing. He brings her this retablo, as he promised, with eternal gratitude.

When I was delivering bread an angry dog attacked me and I drop everything on the ground. Thanks to the Holy Heart I just dusted the bread off and nobody noticed it. This retablo is in memory of this.

When I crossed the town square it started raining so terribly and so heavy that one couldn’t see around. Suddenly the fish began falling down. I had no idea what to do and where to go. Thanks to the Virgin I saw a light. I went towards it, and it was the bakery door. I waited inside with my baby and my dog until this strange deluge stopped. I thank the Virgin for guiding my way.

Thanks to Saint Jude Thaddeus because my girlfriend’s mother miraculously didn’t find me hiding in the closet despite that the closet door didn’t close and the dog couldn’t stop barking at me. She only told my girlfriend off and after that we spent the rest of the night together.

Señora Nadina woke up in her house and saw the nagual taking away her favorite slippers. The poor thing almost fainted from fear but implored the Holy Virgin of Zapopan who sent a beam of light. The nagual dropped a slipper and went hiding under the table.

We dedicate this retablo to the Virgin of San Juan because my son Adrian wasn’t kidnapped thanks to a black stray dog that defended him when they wanted to take him.

Every time I had to sell my bread on the street, a very angry dog jumped on me. It barked and chased me for few blocks not letting me deliver the bread to my clients. With all my faith, I asked the Holy Child of Atocha for help, and few days later the owners of this dog changed the house and took the dog with them. Now I can work in peace.

Thanks, Virgin, because after having walked till my friend’s feet bled he finally found a house near the central station where we two could live. In this way he saved me from the house of the narcos where I had lived for a year and he saved himself from the love he had lost in the house where he had lived with his dog before.

To avoid hitting a girl with a dog I made a sudden turn and almost crashed into a train. Only by a miracle of the Holy Virgin of Guadalupe my car stopped just in few millimeters from the train. I’m offering this retablo in gratitude on the day 30th of September 1957.
