I eternally thank Divine Luis Mariano, a strict hoarder from Franklin district, who every week surprises with some treasures at his place at the Pedro Lagos fair. Blessed with the gift of word, he knows what to sell and how; an absolute master of the language of the streets, a gentleman with ladies and a rabid dog with those who cross him. Thanks, Divine Luis Mariano, for selling me a voice recorder that inspired me and that I used as musical instrument to make my first disc which Luis Mariano participated in, with his voice while playing bowling.

I, Exdj, thank through this exvoto

Guillermo Gonzalez was sent by his boss to Veracruz to measure some lands. He went by horse. Because it was very hot, he stopped to take a short rest by the river. He fell asleep and heard a voice in his dream that was calling him. He woke up and saw three crocodiles ready to attack him. He’s sure it was the Virgin of Guadalupe who warned him in his dream, and he thanks for saving him.

Every time my colleagues and I went to sing serenades I used to pass a couple of tequilas to warm up my voice. But lately I was going out of hand with it to the extent of coming drunk and spoiling the serenades. I thank Saint Cecily because my colleagues gave me another opportunity, and I promised them to become an abstinent mariachi again.

May you be blessed, Virgin of Guadalupe, for I got my voice back. I was left unable to speak, and I implored you promising this retablo if you’d help me. You know that’s how I earn my living performing serenades and songs in taverns here in Garibaldi. Look after me in my job, and I promise to dedicate you a cantata on every December 12.

My throat was inflamed and I couldn’t sing. I almost lost my voice. I entrusted myself, with great devotion, to the Holy Child Doctor of the Ill to heal me. The Child helped me, and now I’m singing again and eve better than ever. I thank for that with this retablo.

With this retablo, I’m infinitely grateful to Saint Martin the Cavalryman for my sexy voice because thanks to it I have an excellent job on a popular hot-line. It’s very fun because the men who call think I’m the beauty from the photo and don’t realize how I look in real life. Besides, they pay me very good.

Jesus Encarnacion Lopez loved rock and created his own death-metal band. But because of lack of technique he damaged his vocal cords after screaming too much. He thanks Saint Jude for he has recovered after some stinky herbs treatment.

I dedicate this retablo in gratitude to Saint Benedict for giving me courage to decide to inject hormones. And now I have very soft skin, nice tits and very sweet voice so I could conquer all guys in Oaxaca.

The devils tempted me to sin, and the angels, from the other side, murmured with their sweet voice to behave well. I was going crazy with so many voices in my head. Only thanks to my prayers to the Virgin of the Rosary the voices sounded less and less, until one day they totally disappeared. I don’t hear them anymore, and I thank for that miracle.

Thank you Saint Cecily because I have the gift of singing. Since I was a little girl, everyone complimented my voice. Now I dedicate myself to singing, receiving applause and recognition of the people who come to listen me every week-ned at the town square. I dedicate this humble retablo for that.
