Every time when it was raining my wife put all the animals inside the house so they wouldn’t wet and sick. Then my wife went to sleep peacefully, and I couldn’t close my eyes. I was afraid that an egg might fall on my head or the pig would start licking my face. I thank the Virgin of Zapopan because we finally saved enough money to build a shed and a henhouse. Now the animals sleep there without getting wet, and I don’t have them around my bed.

The grandmother Macaria’s house is very big and very old. When we came to stay with her for few days, my girls went to the bathroom which was far from their bedrooms. On their way they met a ghost that was wondering around the house. They were very frightened. They were shaking and couldn’t speak. I thank the Virgin of Zapopan for they have recovered from this fear and they even want to see the ghost again.

My sister and I bring flowers to our grandmother’s grave on her birthdays. This time we went at the cemetery at night, and got there with the moonlight. We met some skeletons over there. They left their graves to get drunk. They met us with great joy and wanted to dance with us. We were scared and prayed the Virgin of Zapopan. She helped us to escape from the dead so they didn’t chase us. We thank for that.

My husband and I were riding to the La Aurora ranch to show her new grandson to my mother-in-law, doña Eulalia. On our way the clouds darkened the sky, and the thunderstorm began. Suddenly a lighting hit a tree just in front of us. We thank the Holy Virgin of Zapopan for protecting us. The lightning didn’t hurt us and only burnt my husband’s eyelashes. The baby got scared, but we arrived to La Aurora safe and sound.

I was hanging my laundry on when my daughter went to the river and was taken by the current. I thank the Virgin of Zapopan because a dog appeared from nowhere and brought my daughter to the shore. After that the dog ran away. I know that dog was an angel sent by the Virgin to save my daughter.

Rosario and Lurdes decided to go out of the town and sell tamale and atole to all coming guests during the town fair. The sales were going well. At night they bagged to pack when they saw a rider approaching them. When he came closer they saw that he had no head. In fear they prayed the Virgin of Zapopan, and thanks to her the ghost didn’t notice them and passed by without causing any harm to them.

My father wasn’t very glad that I had a boyfriend, so Antonio and I had to meet secretly. One night we were at the cemetery where no one could see us. We were sitting on a grave and talking when we heard a music. We saw the dead leaving their graves and having a party. They played instruments and danced. We were very much frightened. We thank the Virgin of Guadalupe for we could escape and the skeletons didn’t see us.

I went with my son to make some visits and we were riding the horse. It was late when we were coming back. The Moon was young, and I couldn’t see anything. By accident I hit a tree with a wasp honeycomb on it. The tree was thin so it shook the honeycomb. The wasps woke up being disturbed and surrounded me. I implored Saint Quiteria so that the wasps wouldn’t attack us. The saint protected us, and the wasps didn’t touch me or the horse. I thank for this miracle.

My daughter was born with a strange illness that stopped her from receiving the sunlight. We had to organize a nocturnal life for us. It was little bit difficult at the beginning, but then we got used to it and built a beautiful world under the moonlight. Instead of dogs we kept cats, instead of canaries we had an owl, we grew impossible plants and instead of sunbathing we were moonbathing. I know when the moment comes my beautiful daughter will meet a man who will be willing to share this world with her.

The father and the grandfather of my daughter Aurora were sailors. That’s why she was able to hear the mermaid songs. I was worried seeing her walking every night to the sea captivated by the mermaids’ voices and staying on the edge of the cliff enchanted by their singing. I lost my husband because of these enchanting songs. I didn’t want to lose my daughter also so prayed Saint Barbara for help, and she worked a miracle. Now my daughter doesn’t hear their singing and doesn’t go to the mermaids.

My horses were stolen by some robbers, and I was very upset because among the stolen were two my beloved horses whom I loved as much as my own sons. I prayed the Virgin of the Rosary so that she would help me to find them. And on the sunset my two horses came back. I ran to greet them overwhelmed with joy that they were so smart and could escape and return back.

I inherited from my uncle Jose his old motorcycle, and having it changed my life. There’s nothing better that riding it at dawn, with the wind blowing in my face, when I drive into the darkness that becomes golden with the sunrise. I dive into it like in the sea of light. The speed gives me this wonderful feeling inside, and I forget about all my problems and my boring life, and I feel like a god. I thank the Virgin of Zapopan for sending me this motorcycle and I promise to believe more in her.

Gregorio fell from the fishing boat and hit his head. He lost his conscience, and when he regained it back he saw two mermaids pulling him in different directions—one to the top and the other to the bottom. That moment he entrusted his life to Saint Raphael the Archangel. He thanks him because the mermaid who pulled to the top won, and he got to the surface where his buddies could grab and save him. Although nobody believed in the mermaid story, he didn’t care because he stayed alive.
