I love dancing Argentinian tango and practiced very hard for a tango competition. At the same time I have a stage fright during competitions. I thank Saint Nicholas with this retablo that I had a very talented tang partner to practice for a few months, my tango skills improved and the competition got canceled.

I, Jesus, thank you, St. Eek Yordick, for delivering me from dying. My lover’s husband caught us in the middle of lovemaking, and from the eight bullets he shot seven got to my lover and one hit the wall. I promise not to get involve with married women whose husbands have pistols.

I dedicate this ex-voto to Saint Peter for the legendary carrier of the actor Richard Dreyfuss. It’s always a pleasure to see him act. He rules every scene with his presence. All those famous movies he acted in would never have had big success without him. I wish him many years more, health and success.

Graciela Ramos got a job as a waitress in a gentlemen club. But she was invited so many times for a drink she was becoming an alcoholic. She gives infinite thanks to Saint Rita with the present retablo for finding strength to quit the nightlife.

I took my children to visit my grandmother who lived far away from the village. Night caught us on our way back, and I decided to take a shortcut through the forest near the river. There hundreds of bats came on us beclouding the Moon and we were very frightened. I was scared the bats would bite my children and suck their blood. I prayed the Virgin of the Rosary, and she protected us till we got home. I thank for her protection.

One night my cat Kika ran away and stayed away for three days and three nights. I thank God, Virgin of the Immaculate Conception and Saint Francis of Assisi for helping me and bringing Kika back home.

I thank the Virgin of Zapopan for having sent me the warning about a hailstorm coming. Having this presentiment, I had time to put all my animals inside the house. Otherwise, they would have suffered and got sick outside. Together we passed a calm night, warm and safe.

Some martians moved in the house near us. I was scared, but then, after knowing them better, I saw that they are very nice and generous persons. They get along very well with our family. I thank the Virgin of San Juan for such wonderful neighbors.

Azucena gives infinite thanks to the Virgin of Guadalupe because she’s feeling better. She was stabbed by a client who refused to pay for her services. Now she thanks, and feels good, and works again on this corner, and asks the Holy Virgin, from the bottom of the heart, to always protect her.

With this humble retablo, I thank the Virgin of Guadalupe for letting me play Our Lord Jesus Christ in the staging about the Passion at the Way of the Cross in Itzapalapa this year. It was a great honor for me, because previous years I had been chosen to play roman soldiers or apostles.
