I’m a terrible cook. That’s why my mama used to say I’d never get married. But thanks to Saint Paschal I found a husband who cooks marvelously. He adores cooking, and it is his passion. He prepares delicious dishes for me and our kids. I thank Saint Paschal, the patron of cooks.

My daughter was born with a strange illness that stopped her from receiving the sunlight. We had to organize a nocturnal life for us. It was little bit difficult at the beginning, but then we got used to it and built a beautiful world under the moonlight. Instead of dogs we kept cats, instead of canaries we had an owl, we grew impossible plants and instead of sunbathing we were moonbathing. I know when the moment comes my beautiful daughter will meet a man who will be willing to share this world with her.

For my first salary I ordered this retablo. I dedicate it to the Virgin of the Miracles. I loved high heel shoes ever since I was little. But our family was so poor that sometimes we had nothing to eat. I’ve just got a job in an excellent shoe store in the capital.

The Lozano Lopez family thanks the Lord of Villaseca for healing their five donkeys. They got sick a week ago, and the doctor said they would die. But thanks to your miracle they are cured.

The father and the grandfather of my daughter Aurora were sailors. That’s why she was able to hear the mermaid songs. I was worried seeing her walking every night to the sea captivated by the mermaids’ voices and staying on the edge of the cliff enchanted by their singing. I lost my husband because of these enchanting songs. I didn’t want to lose my daughter also so prayed Saint Barbara for help, and she worked a miracle. Now my daughter doesn’t hear their singing and doesn’t go to the mermaids.

My horses were stolen by some robbers, and I was very upset because among the stolen were two my beloved horses whom I loved as much as my own sons. I prayed the Virgin of the Rosary so that she would help me to find them. And on the sunset my two horses came back. I ran to greet them overwhelmed with joy that they were so smart and could escape and return back.

This retablo is for the Miraculous Virgin because she helped me to get a stable job in a bar in the capital. Besides that I don’t need to wake up early to scrub the floors, I receive good tips dancing for the clients and playing the marimbas naked.

Fernando Ramirez had a marvelous idea to smuggle cocaine in his stomach. But the customs officers found out about it and made him to expel it. Fernando gives thanks to Saint Elias because he found an excellent and influent attorney so he would get out of prison soon.

My wife Rosario had the sin of playing cards. She used to go to play to the Lopez every Tuesday and Thursday. And by Mondays and Fridays her friends came to play at our house. She didn’t pay any attention to me and our baby. I thank the Virgin for curing my wife from this bad habit.

The dead live and enjoy their holiday. Thanks to the Virgin.

I dedicate this retablo to the Lord of Ameca because I fell into a caldron with boiling oil but nothing bad happened with me.

I was going to Monterrey with the money I got for selling my last piece of land when I was attacked by a bandit. In that dangerous moment I prayed the Holy Child of Atocha, and suddenly appeared the Agapito Treviño’s ghost, or the White Horse as they call it. The attacker ran away, and I thank for that.
