I thank God and Saint Francis of Assisi for the miracle of meeting the love of my life. I was 40 years old and thought that I was never going to marry. But then my old boyfriend came back from the United States and proposed to me. I thank God because we are very happy and have become the parents of a beautiful baby.

One evening I was coming back from the town and a tremendous downpour began. Suddenly, a lightning struck and scared the horses in the corral. One of them jumped over the fence going over me. I thank the Virgin of Zapopan for the horse didn’t hit me, and I only got scared.

Pancracio y Teofilo Castillo, the agave farmers, thank Saint Isidor Labourer for a great miracle of saving their agave plantation. Their plants were in danger because of a terrible plague, and they could lose everything. But now their agaves consider the best ones in the region.

Saint Jude Thaddeus, thank you for the happiness you gave me—for The Cheeky. Every day on my way to the bakery, I saw a guy who stared at me. I always looked away and ignored him but one day I noticed that he was following me. Another day he slapped my ass. I felt embarrassed and became very nervous. That’s how I met Sotero and we became a couple.

1975, I met Senaido. I fell in love with his beautiful smile. I didn’t know he was a masochist, and I fell under his charm. But he began to torture me, every day. I bring this retablo to Saint Jude Thaddeus thanking him because Senaido deposit beat me anymore.

On her third year in the boarding school, Dorita Martinez started to sleep-walking. She and her little sister Sandra prayed to the Virgin of Zapopan for curing Dorita because the nuns had told that if she wouldn’t stop sleep-walking they’d send her back home before the end of the school year. And Dorita was bored in her village. They thank the Virgin because she got cured.

When we were going by the old road to San Juan de los Lagos to sell apples we met the phantasm of the headless rider. He often appears to travelers and abducts them. When we saw him, we entrusted ourselves to the Virgin of the Rosary. Thanks to her divine protection, the ghost passed by without noticing us. My husband and I turned gray after that, but we arrived to the town and sold our apples.

I thank the Virgin of San Juan because when my bus with the passengers fell of the cliff, it got stopped by a tree.
