The Blue Comet dedicates this humble retablo to the Virgin of the Solitude thanking her because on the day of his debut he defeated the experienced fighter Devil Kid Jr. receiving an ovation and respect of the audience. That’s how his successful carrier in wrestling started.

As a sign of gratitude to the Holy Virgin of the Solitude for the miracle of saving me from being torn apart by sharks when Toño and I were fishing in Celestun on October 15, 1962.

My daughter was very sick. I prayed to the Virgin of the Solitude. Suddenly I saw a flock of beautiful birds. They flew in the bedroom. I understood that was the Virgin’s miracle. My daughter was glad to see the birds, and she got better. Her illness has gone, and I thank for that wonderful miracle.

Jorge Sanchez thanks the Virgin of the Soledad for saving him from dying when he was repairing the car in his workshop and it fell on him, although he got hurt very badly.

Francisco Rivera loved spying on the girls through a hole in the toilet. But one day he payed for that when he was pricked in an eye. He thanks the Virgin of the Solitude for he didn’t go blind and promises to mend his ways.

The day I got that fatal letter I couldn’t believe my eyes. The words pierced my heart like sharp knives causing me a tremendous pain. I decided that my life was over. But the Virgin of the Solitude took pity on me and eventually calmed me. She brought, miraculously, relief to my broken heart. I thank the Virgin because my life began to have sense again.

The brothers Cosme and Crispin Trejo went to the cemetery to celebrate the November 2 and met a mister who sat on a tomb. He was going to give them a chest full of gold so they would continue with their vice. But suddenly they noticed that it was a skeleton who talked with them. They implored the Virgin of the Solitude for protection, and nothing happened with them. They promised to not drink anymore and to not disturb the dead.

Our dog was afraid of water. But when my little brother was taken by a wave, the dog jumped after him at the sea, without hesitating a single second. We thank the Virgin of the Solitude for this wonderful miracle.

My husband bought a little house in a place far away from the civilization. The place was very beautiful, with a lot of wild animals. But the bad things started when it turned out that the monkeys wanted to become our friends. They became a real plague. They stole the clothes when I did my laundry, they pulled our hair, took our food, they were everywhere, and soon enough my children became to behave like the monkeys. I thank the Virgin of the Solitude because my husband got another job and we had to move to Jalapa. Here I even have a washing machine and no monkeys.

Rigo de la Garza thanks the Virgin of the Solitude, because all the hours he spent learning piano as a kid gave the result. Now he’s a recognized musician and gives many concerts and has a big success. He offered this retablo.

I thank the Virgin of the Solitude. I almost lost hope in love. I thought I’d never love again. But love came back to my devastated heart. There will be no more long hours of loneliness that I used to live through. From now on, I’ll have a sweet and wonderful company for the rest of my life.
