I thank Saint Anthony for I found such man as my fiancé Remigio to get married. He is an excellent man, and his dog have befriended my dog. I already can see a future romance between them. This gives me a lot of happiness on this day of my wedding, because we both love our dogs very much and couldn’t live without them.

My daughter went to buy some tortillas. On her way back, the thunderstorm began. It was hailing, and also raining with frogs. We thank the Virgin of Guadalupe because our daughter was able to find a cover in the abandoned chapel near the road and wait till this incredible storm was over.

One day I was walking my dog Spike, when some angry dogs scared him. I couldn’t hold him, he broke his leash, ran away and got lost. I was desperately looking for him for weeks, searching in all the neighborhoods of the city but with no luck. Then I entrusted myself to Saint Anthony the Great, and he made the miracle—I found my Spike safe and sound. I’m infinitely thankful for that.

It hadn’t rained for few years, and our lands were dry. We and our goats had to eat nopal cactuses and prickly pears, and the dogs fed themselves with lizards and snakes. The Virgin of Guadalupe finally listened to our prayers, and this year abundant rains have come to us. The land is blooming, and we have a lot of vegetables and corn. We thank for this abundance.

It was very hot, so we opened all doors and windows in the house. But then an enormous crocodile got into our house. We were frightened and didn’t know what to do, so we prayed the Virgin. The Virgin took pity on us and made the animal to go away. We thank for that.

Carolina Robledo, faithful to Saint Charbel, brings this retablo as a testimony of gratitude for seeing her friend Frida very happy with her pets.

Mexico, 1946

We went to live to a country house that my husband had near Catemaco. The place was beautiful but a little bit wild. One day my parrot flew away and I ran following it flew toward the forest. I was behind it with my baby so I couldn’t go very fast. However, I finally reached it but then I could no longer found the the way back home. We were lost in the middle of nowhere. I got scared, but suddenly many funny monkeys appeared. They guided us by jumping from one branch to another, and they led us to our house. I thank the Virgin of Zapopan for this amazing miracle.

Thank you, Holy Virgin, for healing my sheep. They were dying from a terrible disease and I couldn’t find any remedy. I prayed to your image, and now my sheep are feeling good. I offer you this retablo in gratitude.

Rosa Maria Lopez became a sleepwalker. She woke up in the pigsty two times and she was ashamed of it. She prayed the Virgin of Zapopan for healing of this illness. The merciful Virgin heard her prayers, and now Rosa is alright. She thanks the Virgin because at least she was never seen with the pigs.
