There were a cockfight during the town holiday. But one day the audience started to shoot, and a boy was wounded. The Rodriguez family thanks the Virgin of San Juan for his recovery.

I was hanging my laundry on when my daughter went to the river and was taken by the current. I thank the Virgin of Zapopan because a dog appeared from nowhere and brought my daughter to the shore. After that the dog ran away. I know that dog was an angel sent by the Virgin to save my daughter.

The Martinez’ cat died, and the children were very sad. Their relatives saw how inconsolable they are and started to give them kittens. The children thank the Virgin of San Juan for now they have six cute kittens. They’re very happy, and their parents also love new kittens.

The teacher Rosita said that my son Antonio wasn’t good in arithmetics so she would leave him to repeat the grade. I was distressed and prayed the Virgin of San Juan so that my boy wouldn’t repeat the third grade again. The Holy Virgin made a miracle, and Antonio got better in arithmetics and passed to the fourth grade. I thank for that.

At a Christmas party, when one girl was about to break piñata but hit Adalberto Duran in the head instead. She smashed his face, and his mother was very scared seeing his son covered in blood. She prayed the Virgin of Zapopan so that her son wouldn’t became stupid after such a blow and wouldn’t lose his mind. The Virgin heard her prayers, and Adalberto got better very soon. He feels alright now.

I went with my son to make some visits and we were riding the horse. It was late when we were coming back. The Moon was young, and I couldn’t see anything. By accident I hit a tree with a wasp honeycomb on it. The tree was thin so it shook the honeycomb. The wasps woke up being disturbed and surrounded me. I implored Saint Quiteria so that the wasps wouldn’t attack us. The saint protected us, and the wasps didn’t touch me or the horse. I thank for this miracle.

The devil pushed my kids’ bicycle in a stonewall, but the Virgin sent an angel. My kids tell that they saw the wall disappeared from their way and they went to the pasture. I give thanks.

Pascasia Lopez bring this retablo thanking the Holy Child of Atocha for she got to know Frida the painter. I’m also thankful to Frida for helping my son to finish the primary school.

Mexico, 1952

My daughter was born with a strange illness that stopped her from receiving the sunlight. We had to organize a nocturnal life for us. It was little bit difficult at the beginning, but then we got used to it and built a beautiful world under the moonlight. Instead of dogs we kept cats, instead of canaries we had an owl, we grew impossible plants and instead of sunbathing we were moonbathing. I know when the moment comes my beautiful daughter will meet a man who will be willing to share this world with her.

My wife Rosario had the sin of playing cards. She used to go to play to the Lopez every Tuesday and Thursday. And by Mondays and Fridays her friends came to play at our house. She didn’t pay any attention to me and our baby. I thank the Virgin for curing my wife from this bad habit.
