I’m a terrible cook. Thats why my mama used to say I’d never get married. But thanks to Saint Paschal I found a husband who cooks marvelously. He adores cooking, and it is his passion. He prepares delicious dishes for me and our kids. I thank Saint Paschal, the patron of cooks.

My husband had bad times at work, and he started sleepwalk. The worst was that he was going out to sit at the church steps. I was dying of shame only imagining that somebody could see him in his underwear—quite threadbare one, I must say. I had to bring him back to bed, and I couldn’t sleep well. I thank the Virgin for the things at my husband’s work have been settled, so he doesn’t sleepwalk anymore and I can finally sleep in peace.

Rosito Lagaretta had a stomachache after eating his mother-in-law’s soup. He didn’t know she had tried to kill him and had poisoned the soup. When he found out about it, he asked Saint Cyprian for helping him get rid of his mother-in-law. One day she had a party and poisoned the orgeat syrup. But she was a fool to not know that Rosito doesn’t drink anything but beer. His mother-in-law and her daughter got drunk at the party and when they got thirsty they drank all the orgeat.

Now my wife rests in peace. I thank for her mother kicked the bucket alongside with her because I couldn’t stand her. She was treating me very badly.

Juan Gallardo was taken with the mermaid’s singing. He couldn’t sleep, he couldn’t eat, and was constantly thinking about her. He swam to the rocks to see her. His wife Rosario understood that she was loosing her husband, so she prayed to the Virgin of San Juan. The Virgin suggested Rosario should put earplugs in Juan’s ears. Thanks to that, the charms were broken and her husband was back to his senses again.

Ines Chavez thanks Saint Pascual Baylon for his help at the kitchen and for she learnt to cook delicious pambasos which her husband is crazy for.

One night, after so many years of happy marriage, my husband began to snore. And he snored like a lion ever since. I couldn’t sleep and fell tired all day long. My happiness and my marriage were at danger. I prayed the Virgin of Zapopan, and she worked the miracle—my husband stopped snoring. Now we are happy again.

I dedicate this retablo to Saint John Bosco thanking him because my husband is such naive and innocent and he doesn’t know that when he goes to his work I’m secretly seeing my ex-boyfriend. I do not like cheating on him but I married him pressured by my parents and our marriage has always been pretty boring.

Sebastiana Jimenez, the Casimiro Perez’ wife, ate too much opuntia prickly pears. She felt sick and had a constipation. Her husband prayed the Virgin of San Juan, and it unblocked the constipation. Sebastiana became completely healed for what he gives infinite thanks.

Most of the time my husband is a very boring man. But thanks to the Virgin of Guadalupe some nights he turns into a real red demon and we aren’t bored for a few hours. These hours made up for the tedious routine.

January 10, 1810, my lady hit me for having confused her name by another. That’s why today I offer this retablo to the Virgin of Guadalupe so this never happens again. I, Nepomuzeno thank.
