My husband got ill, and the doctor said that he must stay in bed until he cured. My life became a real night, are. He asked me to bring him unimaginable things and after a while he didn’t need them anymore. Or he asked me to cook for him some complicated dishes, but then he left the food and didn’t eat. I thank the Virgin of Zapopan for he got recovered quickly, otherwise, I would’ve gone insane.

When my husband got retired, he started to cook in order to spend his free time. He cooked so terribly, that we all had a stomach-ache. I was scared that he’d poison all of us. Thanks to Saint Paschal, he got bored with cooking and dedicated himself to gardening.

Susan Elizabeth Chen & Jonah Marcel Gilbert Daniel van der Beke, who got married on March 26, 2003, in Bath, England, thank St. Joseph, a patron saint of Belgium, New York, travelers, immigrants and married couples, for two years of their marriage. Also they thank for the Jonah’s Green Card that permits Susan and Jonah live together in New York, with their books, music and their cat Cassie.

Thank you, Virgin of Guadalupe, because my husband doesn’t beat me so much. I asked you for this, and you heard me. Now we love each other, I’m very happy and thank you.

I dedicate this retablo to Saint Pancras for the miracle that my mother-in-law finally moved out. Since I married her daughter she lived with us. She didn’t leave us alone and always meddled with us. I thank because my wife understood that the married couple needs their own place. Now my mother-in-law comes only for short visits.

Gilberto Morales became a widow. He didn’t wait a year before getting married again. But then the ghost of his first wife started to appear by night. Gilberto prayed to the Virgin of Zapopan for resting the late wife’s soul in peace. The Virgin heard him, and after November 14, 1954, the ghost didn’t appear any more.

Because her husband became a man of loose morals, Ramona Aguilar beat him with a stick. He got seriously injured and couldn’t recover for a long time. She prayed to St. Pancras in despair, and the husband got better very soon. She brings this retablo in order to thank for such an exceptional favor.

15 November 1950, Antonieta Lopez was on the verge of a nervous breakdown when, thanks to the Virgin of San Juan, her sister arrived from the capital. She took care of the house, the kids and the husband, and Antonieta could rest peacefully.

A. N. and F. G. were about to end their marriage. But when she got pregnant their sexual life improved, because he was fascinated with sucking her breast milk. Now they are happy. He thanks Saint Joaquina for his wife produces enough milk for him and for the baby.

Eugenia Chavez liked to hang washing while being half-naked in order to tease the male neighbors. Until one day the wife of a neighbor hit her with a pan, sending Eugenia to the hospital. Eugenia thanks Saint Rita for her recovery and promises not to be so naughty.

With this humble retablo I want to thank The Holy Child of Atocha for the miracle that my wife Monique finally learned to cook Mexican food. She is french and didn’t know how to make mole or some other dish that I liked. And now I’m enjoying all this food.

In 1914 in Santa Ana Chiautempan my buddy caught me on the mat with his wife. He started to shoot at us. I give infinite thanks to the Holy Child of Atocha because bullets didn’t hit me. She took them all.

In 1917 Jasinta Robledo, having her little affair, was dangerously close to be busted by her husband. She thanks Saint Raymond for getting out from this dangerous situation.
