Micaila Perez almost made the mistake of running away with her boyfriend who was a criminal. Her mother, Demetria Pantoja, prayed to the Lord of Chalma. He showed his protection making the daughter to reconsider it. Mother thanks for this.

My friend Rebeca was going to get married under pressure of her parents. I thank Saint Barbara because few moments before the wedding I convinced her not to marry. I told her that instead of making the biggest error in her life she’d better come to live and study with me in the capital. We thank Saint Barbara.

From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank Saint Ochoa. When my fiancé tried to escape from the church after we had paid for the wedding and also leaving me pregnant, He heard my prayers and stopped the bastard right before the exit from the church. I thank for the miracle.

Maria Guadalupe and I loved each other, but her brother Poncho was against our relationships. Since he was a sorcerer, he came at nights as a furious nagual to separate us. Only thanks to the Virgin of Guadalupe’s help and her blessing, we managed to run away and get married in another town.

Mother, there is your daughter, take care of her.
Daughter, there is your mother, love her.

Thank God I found my daughter who ran away after she had found that I was going to divorce her father. I didn’t think about pain I caused to her. I thought it over and I’m very sorry. Now, when I found her living on the streets, I give thanks because I saved her from the vice of drugs. I swear to take care of her and to give her love and affection as she deserves. I realized that motherhood is a blessing but also a responsibility.

I went for a walk with Ramon, and an angry bull started to chase us. Ramon jumped over the fence leaving me with the furious animal. I thank the Virgin of Guadalupe for two things. First, for I was able to get over the fence and save myself from the bull. Second, for letting me see what type of man I was dealing with. He didn’t care about my safety. And I even considered marrying this man.

The day Roberto and I were going to get married he suddenly felt scared and decided to run away. I thank the Virgin of Zapopan that I noticed it in time and caught him. I drag him back to the church where we got happily married. With so many people he just couldn’t run away again.

I almost made the biggest mistake of my life when I was going to marry Maria Luisa. But there was Manuel standing outside the church. When I looked in his eyes I couldn’t resist and we ran away leaving my fiancée and her parents. They had a nervous breakdown. I thank the Virgin of San Juan because I didn’t ruin three lives. Now I’m happy with my fiancé and Maria Luisa already has a new suitor.

Tired from constant abuses and humiliation from the owners of the weaving factories in Rio Blanco, who, felt protected by the regime of don Porfirio Diaz, had forced us to slave labour for a scanty pittance, we went on strike for our rights to dignity and justice. Not far away from the factory, we were caught and repressed. They started to chase and catch us. On that tragic day, January 7, 1907, hundreds of our workers companions, with the wives and the children, were murdered on the streets of Orisaba, Veracruz, by the three cavalry battalions commanded by the general Rosalio Martinez. I give thanks to the Lord of Sacromonte because I managed to escape and hide myself in Amecameca, Puebla, from where I thank you now.

Javier Espinosa used to sleep with his cousin. But one day her parents arrived and Javier had to escape through the window. He thanks St. Anthony for her parents didn’t punish her, although they prohibited him to come to their house.

Since my fiancé Jose Fransisco went to work to the North and I didn’t receive any news from him, I started to think he had left me for ever. I still loved him, but nevertheless, I agreed to marry Ramon. But I kept praying to the Virgin so that Jose would return. And on the day of the wedding Jose Fransisco arrived right in front of the church doors. He took me on his horse and we rode away. Ramon chased us for quite a long time, but at the end he conceded defeat and stopped following us. Two days later we got married. I thank the Virgin of Guadalupe for the happiness.

I thank the Virgin of San Juan for giving me courage to run away with my boyfriend. Our friend helped us to go live together far away so our parents can’t punish us.
