I give thanks to you, Virgin of the Solitude, for I was able to catch my boyfriend and bring him back to the church to say “yes” for ever.

When Elisa and I were engaged, she was so jealous that on the day of the wedding, after the banquet, she was on edge and she died of indigestion. Three years later I decided to marry again. I met a nice beautiful girl, and we got married. After our honeymoon, when we were back, Elisa’s ghost began to appear in our bedroom. She was furious and stared at us with anger. I was frightened, I prayed the Virgin of Zapopan for her soul. I even brought a priest and sprinkled holy water. Her soul rested in peace, and now we can sleep with peace.

My daughter Dolores was already 40 years old. She was the oldest of my 16 children sent me by God and my only daughter. I was very much worried that the poor thing would lose her train and stay an old maid. I put Saint Anthony of Padua head down and prayed him day and night. My daughter met a gringo named mister Maicol and they got married. Besides, she used the dress I wore at my wedding.

We thank the Virgin of the Rosary because we got married being very much in love. Our wedding was very beautiful. Besides, the whole town was celebrating with us, and the musicians played all night long.

All our friends and relatives came to our wedding. Besides that, dozens of doves flew over to celebrate with us our union which is only to tell the world how big our love is. From now on we are going to live for each other in a small house, and we will keep on being happy like we have been.

I was a cake man at my friends’ wedding. When it was my time to carry it I got so nervous that I stumbled and threw the cake. I give thanks to Saint Martin de Porres for it didn’t fall on the bride and they took the whole incident with humor, although I had to pay twice and went to buy another cake.

The day of my wedding was the happiest day of my life because I married a good man, hard-working and handsome. When we came out of the church we got on his horse and went to his ranch. The children waved to us and ran along. I give thanks to Saint Anthony for so much happiness.
