I thank the Virgin from Tepeyac for giving me peace and pride of accepting my defeat from the great El Santo and came off in one piece to try to recover the championship belt. I testify my eternal gratitude.

Marvelous Heart, thank you because all the surgeries I went through came out very well. I’m happy and living my dream because that’s who I am and all I’m going to do is for love.

Señora Nadina woke up in her house and saw the nagual taking away her favorite slippers. The poor thing almost fainted from fear but implored the Holy Virgin of Zapopan who sent a beam of light. The nagual dropped a slipper and went hiding under the table.

The devil pricked my head with his trident. It caused me a terrible pain. and I couldn’t do anything, only sat quietly in semi-darkness suffering. I prayed to Saint Peter Martyr who had suffered more than I. The saint took pity upon me, and now I don’t have any pain. I give infinite thanks.

I’m still a virgin because I’ve been always very shy with women. So my friends encouraged me to hire a prostitute. But I was so nervous I didn’t notice that I went to the area where crossdresser men work. I give thanks to Saint Bruno because I noticed that the “girl” who was about to jump in my car was a man. I promise to wait till the real love comes to my life.

One night a bat got into my room and started flying around. I was afraid it would bite me and turn me into a vampire. But my cat wasn’t scared, he caught the bat and ate it. I thank Saint Nino, patroness saint of tutors, because I managed to raise such a clever and brave cat.

I prayed the Virgin of Guadalupe to help me to defend myself from my husband because he was always abusive and when he came home drunk he used to beat me. The Virgin inspired me to start practicing boxing. The other day when he came drunk, I put my gloves on and beat the crap out of him. Since then, he wouldn’t dare to hit me, and I thank the Virgin of Guadalupe for that.

1917, on our way to Puebla, the mare got scared of my wife and kicked her. My wife broke her hip. Since no remedy could help her, I implored the Holy Child of Atocha, and she recovered. I thank for that with this retablo.

I’m an American and I’m fascinated by the pre-hispanic cultures of Mexico. Every year I traveled to Mexico on my vacation and I’ve visited Monte Alban, Teotihuacan, Tula, Bonampak. But this year I’ve had to cancel everything because of the coronavirus pandemic. I beg Saint Christopher, patron saint of the travelers, to find a cure from COVID-19 sooner so I could visit the great Chichen Itza in Yucatan.

We dedicate this retablo to the Virgin of San Juan because my son Adrian wasn’t kidnapped thanks to a black stray dog that defended him when they wanted to take him.
