Jasinto and Pascual Martinez love to go to drink in the abandoned house behind the bridge. But on October 17, 1963, they had a horrible experience there, when a headless bride appeared to them. They got sick out of fear and were cured only by praying to the Virgin of Zapopan. They promised to drink less.

When this terrible tragedy happened in New York on September 11, 2001, my husband was going to work at the Twin Towers. When I saw the news on TV, I thought I wouldn’t see him ever again. But the Virgin of Guadalupe worked a miracle and few days later I received a word that he was alright.

On a very calm night, my cats that were outside suddenly became anxious and scared. First I didn’t get why, but then I looked in the sky and saw two witches flying on their brooms. They didn’t come with good intentions, they were fighting with my cats. I grabbed a stick and scared the witches as best I could and saved my pets. Thanks, Virgin.

I give thanks to the Virgin of Guadalupe for enlightening my friend Juan who left La Pintana in the midst of Apocalypse, on his bike, on August 10. Today, August 31, he arrived to Chañaral and made the half of his route to Tacna which is in the south of Peru. Thanks, Virgin, for delighting his eyes with pure geography and for he doesn’t need any anti-rash creme.

I’m infinitely grateful to the Holy Child of Atocha for delivering us from dying drowning in Rio Bravo when we—my son and I—tried to cross it. The current was dangerously dragging us down, and I prayed to the Child and right away saw a branch. I grabbed it and managed to get us out of the river. We arrived well to our destination, finding a job in the United States. I ordered to make this retablo for receiving the favor.
