My husband bought a little house in a place far away from the civilization. The place was very beautiful, with a lot of wild animals. But the bad things started when it turned out that the monkeys wanted to become our friends. They became a real plague. They stole the clothes when I did my laundry, they pulled our hair, took our food, they were everywhere, and soon enough my children became to behave like the monkeys. I thank the Virgin of the Solitude because my husband got another job and we had to move to Jalapa. Here I even have a washing machine and no monkeys.

I thank the Holy Cross. I was so unlucky. My husband brought me to live to my mother-in-law’s house. But doña Petronila didn’t like me at all. She made my life miserable, and one day she even gave me a thrashing because I hadn’t washed the socks properly. But the Holy Cross made the miracle and softened her heart, so she doesn’t bully me anymore.

My neighbors gossiped that my friend was flirting with my husband and even wanted to take him away from me. One day I met her at the laundry place. I grabber her hair, so she looked like a scarecrow. I thank Saint Raymond Nonnatus because I have found that those rumors were lies. I reconciled with my friend, and from now on the gossipy neighbor won’t bother us.
