My husband bought a little house in a place far away from the civilization. The place was very beautiful, with a lot of wild animals. But the bad things started when it turned out that the monkeys wanted to become our friends. They became a real plague. They stole the clothes when I did my laundry, they pulled our hair, took our food, they were everywhere, and soon enough my children became to behave like the monkeys. I thank the Virgin of the Solitude because my husband got another job and we had to move to Jalapa. Here I even have a washing machine and no monkeys.

The possibility to dance every day is the best gift that the life could have possibly given me. I love to merge with the music and to feel the flexibility of my muscles and to respond to the sound and to create the beauty in my movements. I thank the Virgin of the Rosary whom I asked to help me to become a ballet dancer, when I was a little girl. And she fulfilled my dream.

My daughter had nightmares almost every night, and she woke up scared and with bags under her eyes. We prayed together to her Guardian Angel so that he would protect her from these frightening wiles that unsettled her dreams. Few days later the angel made the nightmare monsters go away with his light. Now my daughter sleeps well and sees sweet dreams.

When I came out of my house to go to the church to marry my beloved Juan, I slipped on a banana peel that one of my sisters had thrown on the ground. There were a lot of puddles around because it had rained the night before, but the Virgin of Zapopan worked the miracle so I fell at the dry spot and didn’t soil my dress. To ruin my wedding dress few minutes before the most important moment of my life would’ve been horrible. I thank the Virgin because everything went well and I got married without problems.

I sold the oranges at the market and bought the piglet. I rode my donkey holding the piglet, when we fell into a pit. I fell down and the donkey with the piglet fell over me. I couldn’t move. I thought we were going to die down there in the dark. But thanks to Saint Francis a muleteer was passing by. He heard my screams, and he helped me out. I bruised myself but I was safe. The donkey and the piglet, since they fell on me, were also alright. I give thanks.

I was washing my baby-boy in the river when I slipped on a stone and drop him in the water. He was taken by the current, I rush after him and I was amazed to find out that he was very happy swimming around. It was a wonderful miracle of the Virgin of Zapopan because it’s impossible for such a little baby to learn by himself how to swim. I thank the Virgin for saving my boy.

My daughter Josefina began sleepwalking. She went out and wandered around the town. I was afraid that something would happen with her, and because we couldn’t always look after her I prayed to the Virgin pf Zapopan for help. The Virgin worked the miracle. And since my daughter became the Ruben Magaña’s girlfriend she stopped walking in her sleep. We thank for this miracle.

I didn’t want a dog in our house, but my husband persuaded me to take one. I thank Saint Quiteria for helping me to get over my fear of dogs. Our dog is a very intelligent, and it’s a very good babysitter. It has a sixth sense to prevent our kids to go someplace without permission <. . .> I’ve become very fond of this dog.

After many years of relationships Heliodoro finally proposed to me. However, on the day of the wedding he changed his mind. Only thanks to the Virgin of Zapopan who whispered me about his runaway, I managed to catch him in time and brought him back to the church. We got married and now we are happy.

I took my son to Tonala to visit his grandmother. We were coming back late at night. We were passing by the cemetery when we saw some skeletons getting over the cemetery fence. They began chasing us. I thank the Virgin of Zapopan because some dogs came running. They smelled the bones and began to bite the skeletons’ legs. The skeletons finding themselves in danger ran back to the cemetery. And we managed to escape.

On a windy day, the sea waves brought me a handsome man who became the love of my life. I thank Saint Barbara for bringing to my beach the man who will be my husband and my partner for ever.

I’m standing before you, Holy Virgin, with a deadly wound in my heart that was caused by a heartless woman who rejected my sincere love. I thank you for bringing me peace and healing, little by little, the wounds of my poor heart that might love again someday.

I was very proud of my beautiful garden, but one day it was invaded by swarms of giant snails. Who knows how did they grow up so big, but they began to eat my flowers. I didn’t know what to do, but finally I managed to get rid of them. The Virgin of Guadalupe sent me a great idea to salt around my garden. The snail never came back, and I thank for getting rid of them.
