I went to the cemetery to pass some drinks. I didn’t remember that it was November 1. At the midnight I heard strange noises, so I climbed a tree and from over there I saw the dead who began chatting with each other. I thank the Virgin of Guadalupe for they didn’t see me. At the dawn they disappeared, and I could get down.

I thank the Virgin of San Juan for my husband—who is an inventor—has finally invented something useful—a domestic robot. The robot saved me from a lot of work, and he’s also very cute.

1925, in Apisaco my husband caught me with my friend and started to shoot at us. I give infinite thanks to Saint Charbel because no bullet hit me, my friend took them all. Now he is at the cemetery and the other on is in the jail.

My wife insisted that I go to the gym to exercise in order to get rid of my belly. But I was very lazy. I give thanks to Saint Pancras for finally going there because there are a lot of very beautiful girls with excellent bodies at the gym and whenever I go there I always have a very nice sight.

I thank you, White Girl, for pardoning and not taking us, Diego and me, with you on that day of the motorcycle accident when our tire blew out at full speed. Thank you and thank you more, Holy Death, for your protection and for granting us with more time to keep going on a spree with our infinite love—the music.

Every time I had to sell my bread on the street, a very angry dog jumped on me. It barked and chased me for few blocks not letting me deliver the bread to my clients. With all my faith, I asked the Lord of the Wonders for help, and few days later the owners of this dog changed the house and took the dog with them. Now I can work in peace.

My husband was a football fan. He used to come home and turn on the TV first thing to watch his games. He didn’t pay me any attention and never had time for the intimacy. I was so desperate I even thought about asking for a divorce. I fervently prayed Saint Barbara, and little by little my husband’s sport fever went down. Now he’s a more loving and, above all, fulfilling husband.

One night I discovered that my children had become friends with an enormous and horrible nagual. I tried to tell them that they shouldn’t approach him but they loved him so much they even brought him food and milk. So then I decided to try another way and asked the Virgin of Guadalupe for support. I sprinkled holy water on our house and over the lands, and the nagual wouldn’t dare to approach it anymore. <…>

My children went to swim to the river. But suddenly a strong current under the mountain dragged them down to the river. I ran along the river frightened that I might lose them out of sight. I thank Saint Barbara because she put a fallen branch on their way. They managed to grab on it and then get out just very frightened of what happened.

My poor cat had a bad luck to be a black one. Being rejected by the people he had developed shyness and had become very insecure—with the female cats as well. Lately he fell in love and completely lost his head over the kitty of our new neighbor. It was painful to see how insecure he was trying to conquer her. I thank the Virgin of Zapopan because the kitty responded to him and now they are a happy couple.

Our donkey on which we were carrying oranges to the town for selling fell down the cliff and couldn’t climb back by itself. We thank the Holy Child of Atocha for giving us—to me and my children—extraordinary strength to pull the donkey up and save him. Besides, we love him very much and he’s like our family member.

Gregorio Perez got into a house to rob it but got stuck in the chimney on his way out. He thanks Saint Sebastian de Aparicio with this retablo for he was given short time in prison and promises to amend his ways.
