I, Casimiro Vergara, give thanks to Saint Anthony of Padua for not losing my head when I climbed up to repair tv-antenna and discovered my son playing wrestling in my lucky underwear with his best friend. I almost fell down the roof after seeing it. I promised to pay an air-ballon trip for my son and his friend, walk the laika and commission this exvoto painted by E. Espin.

I got drunk with a martian. Thanks, it was fun.

We thank Saint Sebastian for making our relationship official before the society, without hiding it anymore, and for living it with happiness that we both wished for.

Thanks, Brown-skin Virgin, for making so that Marcela doesn’t want to whiten her skin any longer with the creams that say they help to make her white-skin. I’m proud to be brown-skin, and Marcela is too now, and I’m very much grateful.

Mercedes Salazar wholeheartedly thanks Saint Christopher for the miracle that her husband Alberto came back from the United States to spend Christmas and New Year with her and their two little kids. He was gone for a whole year, and they couldn’t see him and missed him very much.

I thank Saint Rita because now, when I’ve been transferred to another department, my old boss would never find out that it was I who, in revenge, used to put dog shit on his desk.

We wholeheartedly ask the Holy Child of Atocha, with this humble retablo, to end this pandemic, because we weren’t able to celebrate the Christmas holidays as we traditionally do because of COVID-19. We beg to be able to celebrate them the next year with all our relatives and friends.

I put too much liquor in my punch at the Christmas party in my neighborhood. Since I was getting tipsy, I came where doña Juanita was about to hit the piñata and she gave me such a tremendous blow in the head that I even saw stars. I give thanks to the Virgin of Juquila because nothing serious happened and I only got a lump. I promise not to drink so much on these December holidays.
