On their way back from the celebration in Lagos de Moreno where they got pretty drunk, the Vasquez ran into the Weeping Woman ghost who blocked the road. They prayed to the Blessed Sacrament for protection from the ghost. The brothers managed to ran home safe and sound but got so scared they stopped drinking ever since.

May you be blessed, Virgin of Guadalupe, for the miracle that I survived after being hit be a car. I felt the death close to me, and it scared me a lot, so I swear to not drink again.

Virgin of San Juan de los Lagos, we thank you for we are cured form this fucking diarrhea that happened to us when the damned devil appeared to us. We ran away so fast we even sobered up.

I went to the cemetery to pass some drinks. I didn’t remember that it was November 1. At the midnight I heard strange noises, so I climbed a tree and from over there I saw the dead who began chatting with each other. I thank the Virgin of Guadalupe for they didn’t see me. At the dawn they disappeared, and I could get down.

The stylist Carmen Mejia went partying and the next day came to work still not sobered up. There, by mistake, she colored a client’s hair in silver-white color and was fired for that. She thanks the Virgin of the Solitude for it all ended like this and she wasn’t denounced.

Jasinto Chavez had some drinks and came to work drunk. He was fired for that. He thanks Saint Francis with this retablo because he was paid big dough and has already found another job.

The young man Roberto B. got drunk. When he came home he couldn’t hold it and vomited on his father’s feet. He thanks Saint James for his father was understanding and didn’t kick him out.

I dedicate this retablo to the Holy Guardian Angel because it’s been few days since I noticed that my wife stopped hiding the tequila in the coffee can. Before she used to get drunk and we were thinking she was having breakfast with a cup of harmless and tasty coffee while it was delicious and expensive tequila she was drinking.

Marta R. and Raquel M. brought wine to the school and got drunk, but the nuns caught them. They thank the Virgin of San Juan for they weren’t expelled and only had to sweep the school with hangover.

When the young Alejandro Jimenes’ father came home drunk, he used to hang the boy naked and spanked him with the belt. Alejandro thanks the Holy Child of Atocha for the neighbors denounced about it, and now he is safe.

I bring this retablo to the Lord of Chalma for the miracle that my boyfriend stopped drinking and fighting, to my relief and happiness.

There was a girl whom I liked very much. But I was scared to tell her. So one night I went to the bar to drink some tequila in order to have courage. Then I went to sing her a serenade, but I was so drunk I got a wrong balcony and sang it to the old maiden of the town. I give thanks to Saint Rita because neither she nor her family recognized me, otherwise, if I had kept singing, they would’ve married me. I promise to be brave in declaring my love feelings to a woman.

Guadalupe Ramirez made some eggnog for a party. But when she came back to the kitchen she found out that the cat drank everything and got slightly drunk. She thanks Saint Paschal Baylon because she was able to prepare another eggnog and the cat survived.
