I give you infinite thanks, Saint James the Apostle, for having a natural beauty and the body. Thanks to my look I have a lot of job as an art model for artists and photographers, and, with the money they pay me, I can cover my university studies.

The night of November 2, I was taking care of some tomes at the cemetery. I received a great shock when I saw with my own eyes a dead man who opened his casket and was ready to get out of it. I prayed the Lord of Chalma for protection and could escape safely. Next time I’m offered a job at the cemetery, I’d rather refuse.

Thank you, Holy Virgin, for healing my sheep. They were dying from a terrible disease and I couldn’t find any remedy. I prayed to your image, and now my sheep are feeling good. I offer you this retablo in gratitude.

I thank Saint James for saving me. I was going back to the village, when the earth trembled and cracked under me.I fell off the horse. I thank nothing serious happened with me.

Saint Infant Jesus of Prague, I thank you, because you’ve heard my prayers and requests to change my wife’s temper. She was very violent and always beat me.

With all my faith, I dedicate this retablo to Saint James the Apostle for protecting me from being kicked by a bull. I got an angry bull, and only thanks to the saint’s divine intervention nothing serious happened.

My husband told me that he was going to paint our house with a friend’s help while I’d be visiting our daughter and grandsons in Guanajuato. But when I came back I found that the friend was Pedro Rosas, an old fashion hippy, and that he had convinced my husband to paint the house with psychedelic colors and images. Our house was a nightmare. There were eyes looking from the walls. I thank the Virgin of Guadalupe because I convinced my husband that all that was insane. Now, after repainting all with white paint our house is inhabitable again.

Juana dedicates this humble retablo to the Lord of the Column for Juvencio who got five bullets in the stomach from the soldiers of the garrison at Celaya for having deserted. I found him almost dead and prayed the Lord for protection. He heard me, and I thank him with this retablo for what happened that morning on April 15, 1922.

I thank the Virgin of San Juan for not getting mad when I saw an UFO and for not losing my family.

I thank Saint Martin de Porres for getting out of jail. The master accused me of stealing a cow from the ranch. But it wasn’t me, it was another man. And now they have caught him.
