I want to thank Saints Cosmas and Damian with this retablo for the miracle that the anatomy teacher Lupita de Barragan became passionate about my son Juan Luis and helped him to overcome his apprehensions and fears of flesh and tendons, and blood, and other things. So my son happily graduated as M.D. surgeon.

My sister and I went swimming. Suddenly we were caught by a giant octopus. It grabbed us with its tentacles and dragged us into the depth. I felt that our lives were in danger, so I prayed to Saint Barbara. She helped us blowing a lot of bubbles that distracted the octopus. He let us free, and we swam to the shore. We thank for saving our lives.

My friend Rebeca was going to get married under pressure of her parents. I thank Saint Barbara because few moments before the wedding I convinced her not to marry. I told her that instead of making the biggest error in her life she’d better come to live and study with me in the capital. We thank Saint Barbara.

We thank the Virgin of Guadalupe because it took us five years to save enough money to go on vacations here, to the Acapulco’s beaches.

The devil made my horse stumble, and I fell and hit my head on the rocks on the road. After that I continue to see the devil for many days. The devil mocked me, and I saw him even with closed eyes. So I prayed to the Virgin of Zapopan, and she made this vision disappear. Now I see normal and see no devil.

I thank the Virgin of Guadalupe for saving my life when the elephant got mad in the circus. I prayed to you, and you saved me. I made this retablo for the miracle.

Anselmo Gutierrez worked in the mine and found a gold nugget. His boss gave it to him, and with it Anselmo payed for his son’s knee surgery. He thanks the Virgin of San Juan for this huge favor and offers this retablo.

An eagle used to take my pigs. But one day when it caught my piglet, I got so mad, I started to kick it with the broom and then I threw the broom into it. I hit it so hard, that the eagle dropped his pray. I thank the Virgin for the piglet fell into the drinking trough and didn’t get hurt. And the eagle never came back.

You saved me, Virgin, from a nagual that appeared to me this night. Thank you for scaring him away.

An angry dog attacked my brother Eulalio’s puppy. The puppy was badly injured. We thanks the Virgin of Zapopan because it didn’t die and is getting better.

I was changing a light bulb and lost my balance. I dropped the fused bulb and it fell right where my little baby was. I thought the bulb would explode and shuttered glass would cut the little body of hers. I was frightened. But the Virgin worked the miracle, and the bulb didn’t break after hitting the floor. I give thanks for that.

Panfilo Romero was going to rob an old lady. But he didn’t know that she had two big and angry dogs living with her. They attacked him. Panfilo thanks the Virgin of San Juan because he managed to escape alive from the dogs.

April 1976, in the city of Monterrey The Pharaoh was fighting against Blue Demon and almost semi-fainted. He entrusted himself to the Lord of Anxieties. When the rival was about to rip The Pharaoh’s mask away, the light in the coliseum went off. And that saved The Pharaoh’s career. In sign of his gratitude he dedicated this retablo.
