Our grandmother Margarita entrusted us with her animals while she went to Puebla to visit our aunt Juanita. But the spoiled grandmother’s pig Rosita escaped from me and my brother through our negligence. We couldn’t find her, and we entrusted ourselves to Saint Francis of Assisi, because our grandmother had a bad temper and she would be furious. Thank to the saint we found the pig near by the village and we caught her.

15 November 1950, Antonieta Lopez was on the verge of a nervous breakdown when, thanks to the Virgin of San Juan, her sister arrived from the capital. She took care of the house, the kids and the husband, and Antonieta could rest peacefully.

We thank the Lord of Chalma for protecting the father Fray Tormenta during his wrestling career. He has a good heart and he’s continuing to help to all the children in need who are looking for a support. We hope his dream to build “The Children’s City” will come true.

When my son Juan’s horse died I couldn’t imagine he’d grieve so deeply. He climbed on the stable roof and refused to come down to eat and to sleep. Thanks to the Virgin of Zapopan his godfather Carlos gave him a colt. My boy became happy again and started to eat. I offer this retablo to the Virgin.

May 25, 1953, we went to baptize our Luisito. The bus broke down so we had to ride horses. We were in rush, so we rode full speed. My horse stumbled on rocks. We thank the Virgin of the Rosary because nothing happened with the baby at the falling. We still baptized him, and he’s all right.

After few years of marriage my husband was taken by the sea. He left me alone with our little boy whom I had to feed. I didn’t know a lot about fishing, but I took the boat and the net and went to the sea. I asked St. Barbara for help, and she decided to help me. My net was filled with fish. So, without great effort, I managed to have a good yield. In that way I was able to collect enough money to open a fish shop at the town market.

The little boy Juanito Lopez had a marvelous idea to go down the waterfall in a barrel. His parents thank Saint James because he survived and only broke his legs.
