Virgin of Guadalupe, we offer you this retablo for saving my brother Fidel from dying. We went as immigrants on the train, known as “The Beast”, and he fell and hung on. We asked for strength to help him out. We thank you for the miracle.

May 25, 1953, we went to baptize our Luisito. The bus broke down so we had to ride horses. We were in rush, so we rode full speed. My horse stumbled on rocks. We thank the Virgin of the Rosary because nothing happened with the baby at the falling. We still baptized him, and he’s all right.

The little boy Juanito Lopez had a marvelous idea to go down the waterfall in a barrel. His parents thank Saint James because he survived and only broke his legs.
