I dedicate this retablo to the Virgin of Carmel because ever since I was little I wanted to be a man, in spite of being born a girl. Thanks to the Virgin I decided to leave my husband and my kids and to move to the capital where I started to work as a lift attendant in a luxurious skyscraper.

The music is a very important part of our family’s life and is with us every day. We love playing instruments near our birds because they begin to sing. It produces a very beautiful sound. I thank Saint Francis because my kids have inherited my musical talent.

I thank Saint Paschal because I was admitted to the monsieur Pierre Bouvier school. He is the best chef but also the most strict teacher in the town of Santo Tomas. Thanks to the saint I cook very deliciously and occasionally invent new dishes. My teacher is very pleased with me. He thinks I’ll be a good chef.

I offer this retablo for the double favor — I have a son and there are no dogs in my bed.

We thank the Virgin of San Juan because it’s incredible that we managed to sell the haunted house, that we had inherited, to a very eccentric gentleman. When he found out about the ghosts and the apparitions he payed us even more.

My dog was very hungry because with so many work to do I forgot to feed it. The animal pulled the mushroom soup on the floor and ate a lot of it. But afterwards it got sick. It seems there was a poisonous mushroom in the soup. I thanks Saint Paschal for the pet doctor gave serum and other medicine to the dog and saved the animal. Because the dog keeps my company and I love it very much—almost like my children.

It was getting dark, when an enormous and horrible ghost appeared to us on a desert highway. I didn’t know what to do. I closed my eyes and entrusted myself to the Virgin of San Juan. She drove our car through the ghost. When I opened my eyes, the ghost had disappeared. I thank the Virgin for saving us from this crying creature.

Pedrito and Lupita were making love in a hay cart. And it ended bad, because they caught some ticks. They thank Saint Raymond for their recovery and promise not to do crazy things anywhere.

Maria Hernandez decided to drown herself because of love pain. But thanks to the Virgin she was saved in time by a fisherman. She ask God to forgive her and thanks the Virgin for saving her life and her immortal soul.
