I was very fat, and my cousins told me that I’d never get married. But I prayed to the Virgin of Zapopan, and thanks to her Antonio began to pay me attention. We are going to get married shortly after our engagement, because he’s telling I’m the prettiest girl in the town. And I believe him.

After having a very high fever, my husband imagined himself as a superhero from comics. He tried to fly to save the world. I was afraid he’d going to kill himself and I prayed to Saint Peter Martyr. Saint patron of the lunatics, thank you for my husband is back to reason so I don’t have to run after him to the roofs to stop him from flying. Although when he becomes very affectionate at night, he enjoys putting his superhero costume on.

Thank you, Virgin of Guadalupe, because I understood that the woman is just like the devil. That’s why my wife is a bitch.

My husband and my son were bewitched by a mermaid singing. These fools wouldn’t fish. They came back home with no fish. Finally they realized that we had nothing to eat or to sell at the market. We were dying from hunger. So then they put corks in their ears for not to be bewitched. They were able to fish again, and I thank the Virgin for we have food on our table again.

I was a lousy cook and always burnt the food. I was afraid that my gluttonous boyfriend would leave me for a good cook. But Saint Paschal heard my prayers and requests and worked the miracle so I became a really good cook. I even invent my own recipes now. I thank the saint patron of cooks because my boyfriend has proposed to me.

My daughter’s enemies spread rumors and confabulate all kinds of dirty stories about her in order to malign her honor and person. Then I implored Saint Raymond’s help, who sowed dissension among the enemies. They began to fight with each other and left my daughter in peace. I thank for that.
