1939, my wife got pregnant and I had no job at the time. So I became a shoeshiner and that way I met Frida, the artist. Having found out about my problem, she helped me. My wife gave birth to the baby, and I’m infinitely thankful for this to the Virgin of San Juan and to Frida.

Thanks to Jesus my wife got up from the bed and let me sleep in peace.

For most of the time, my husband is a very boring man. But I thank the Virgin of Guadlaupe for having heard my prayers. Now, some nights, my husband turns into a red ardent demon at night and stops being boring for few hours. It compensates all the routine days.

My mother-in-law Tamborina Sanchez Aldama used to put false ideas in my wife’s head. She was telling her that I might have another family, that I was flirting with other women, that I was spending all my money for booze, and other stupid things. One day she was in hurry to get to our house to tell my wife that I had a son on the side. But she had an accident at the corner. There were sewerage works going on and she didn’t notice an opened manhole which she fell into. She was in come when they got her out. I thank Saint Sebastian de Aparicio for that. Now her lies won’t ruin my marriage. Besides, everything she had been telling about me eventually turned out to be just fantasies in her head—which by a true miracle doesn’t function anymore.

Gino Rubert dedicates the present retablo to the Holy Father for hearing his prayers and giving his wife a fatal pulmonary infection because she was a very cruel and abusive person.

When a demon’s face came out of the wall I felt uncomfortable. I thought it appeared because I had been flirting with a pharmacist behind my husband’s back. I prayed the Virgin of Guadalupe to forgive me after such a terrible punishment. Thanks to the Virgin this giant demon doesn’t appear anymore.

My husband told me that he was going to paint our house with a friend’s help while I’d be visiting our daughter and grandsons in Guanajuato. But when I came back I found that the friend was Pedro Rosas, an old fashion hippy, and that he had convinced my husband to paint the house with psychedelic colors and images. Our house was a nightmare. There were eyes looking from the walls. I thank the Virgin of Guadalupe because I convinced my husband that all that was insane. Now, after repainting all with white paint our house is inhabitable again.

Because of a bad fight she had had with her husband, the painter Frida was feeling weighed down. I prayed the Virgin of the Solitude, and the painter got better. She found herself happy playing with her pets, and I thank for that.

I offer this retablo to Saint Rose. I decided to visit very famous lesbian tattoo artist in Tijuana to make a surprise for my husband’s birthday. But when my hubby saw my body all covered in tattoos he freaked out and kicked me out. He didn’t want to know me anymore. But the most amazing thing was that after this I came back to Tijuana and went to the lesbian artist with whom I had already started falling in love. Now we’re living and making tattoos together.

Thank you, Holy Child of Atocha, because by a miracle I’ve got the news about my husband. I’ve found out he is ok, and I hope he’ll be with me pretty soon.

Virgin of Guadalupe, thank you for healing my husband Filimon from a horrible fever and diarrhea which he had after drinking too much for too long. He was dying and nothing seemed to help him. I entrusted him to you, and he’s recovered.

My husband loved his fighting rooster very much. One day he rooster got sick and it greatly saddened my husband. I wasn’t particularly fond of the cock because y husband spent all his time with him giving him a lot of attention. But when I saw how deeply my husband cared for the rooster’s health, I went to the witch doctor. She gave me a potion. We gave it to the rooster, and he recovered quickly after that. I thank the Virgin of Guadalupe because my husband was so grateful for saving his rooster he treats me with gifts every day.

I thank Saint Benedict for helping me to keep my great secret. In reality it’s my wife who is the boss in our house and I’m just a henpecked husband. If somebody found out, it would damage my tough image among the fans and I’d be a joke for my fellows wrestlers. I bring this humble retablo.
