Don Venustiano Hernandez’ heifers escaped from their pastures. Don was very sad because he looked for them everywhere but couldn’t find them. He asked Saint Francis of Assisi for help, and the saint helped him to find them. Few days later he caught them safe and sound. He thanks for that.

I was always followed by the cats when I went out. I thought it happened because I went to the market and they wanted some food. But then I noticed that they followed me anywhere. Maybe because I care about them, talk with them and sometimes, if I can, I leave them something to eat. I think they understand that I like them and that I always treat them with love. I thank Saint Francis for having a way with cats.

Red demons tortured my cats in order to have fun. I thank Saint Francis for blessing my broom. I swept those monsters and saved my cats from suffering.

My neighbor loved to listen radio very loudly until one day I hit him in the teeth. I ask Saint Francis to forgive me for my bad action, which I went to jail for.

I was always late for work because I used to turn the alarm off and continue to sleep. I was afraid to lose my job, so I prayed to Saint Francis. Thank to him I found out that if I let the windows open, the birds that wake up with the sun would come to my room and sing me. Now they wake me up with their melodic twitter, and I have a good mood for entire day. I thank Saint Francis for this miracle.

I used to cook chicken for my family because they liked it very much, and also I knew that chicken meat is very nutritious. But one day I was so tired, I fell asleep right in the kitchen. In my dream, I saw the ghosts of the chicken I had cooked. They looked at me with sadness, like they were reproaching me. I thank St. Francis for now on I cook fish and I have no more nightmares with the chicken ghosts.

I dedicate this retablo with my picture to Saint Francis of Assisi because two days ago he helped me to find a cream to depilate these ugly hairs that grow under my armpits on my legs, my arms end even on my face.

Some rabbits came to eat the vegetables in my vegetable garden. I prayed to Saint Francis, and he granted me with a gift of communication with them. So I started to negotiate with the rabbits. I promised them to give them rotten vegetables, if they stop ravaging my garden. So now I have my own rabbit farm. They listen to me, I feed them, and everybody’s happy. I thank for that.

Señora Librada brings this retablo for the miracle of saving my cow. Hoof-and-mouth disease killed a lot of animals in the town of Real de Catorce, San Luis Potosi. But I entrusted my cow to Saint Francis.

With this drawing your slave Juan Luis Rubert wants to thank you, Saint Francis, for the miracle. My dog Sandy bit the doña Mariela Luisiana del Corral’s big toe. I cared about the wounded woman with all my devotion, in your constant presence, Saint Francis. At that moment her husband arrived and witnessed this scene. He got furious and killed the dog but left Mariela Luisiana del Corral to me for ever.
